Think your team has what it takes to outsmart, out-create, and completely outdo each other? Then it’s time to step into Task Master New Zealand, one of our most unpredictable (and laugh-out-loud funny) team building activities.

Inspired by the hit TV show, this experience throws your team into a series of weird, wonderful, and wildly entertaining challenges. One minute you’re building something completely ridiculous, the next you’re performing something even more outrageous. Either way, the energy stays high, the laughs keep coming, and no two moments are ever the same.

What It’s All About

At its core, Task Master is all about quick thinking, creativity, and embracing the unexpected.

Each event is tailored to your team’s size, vibe, and location, with our lively hosts bringing the banter, energy, and a few cheeky surprises along the way. From the very first task, teams go head-to-head in timed challenges that reward imagination, teamwork, and a willingness to give it a go.

At first, teams try to figure out the “right” answer. Then, as the rounds unfold, they realise there isn’t one. That’s where the magic happens.

Because every challenge is different, teams need to think fast, adapt quickly, and lean into their strengths. Some tasks reward creativity, others favour logic, and a few are simply about committing to the chaos.

How It Works

To kick things off, each team is handed a bucket filled with a mix of random (and slightly questionable) items. From everyday objects to things that make absolutely no sense… it’s all part of the challenge.

Next, your Task Master steps in and hands over the first sealed envelope. Inside? A brand new task.

At first glance, it might seem simple. Then you read it again.

Each task is designed to be interpreted, not followed step-by-step. That means teams need to think creatively, communicate quickly, and decide how they’re going to tackle it using only what’s in their bucket.

Some challenges reward logic and problem solving. Others are completely open to interpretation. And a few? They’re just downright ridiculous.

As the rounds progress, the tasks evolve, the pressure builds, and the ideas get bigger (and often weirder). Teams start to back themselves, take risks, and fully embrace the chaos.

At the end of each round, performances are judged, points are awarded, and the leaderboard starts to take shape.

By the final task, the competition is tight, the laughs are loud, and everyone is all-in.
