We had an absolute blast partnering with the legends from Programmed to design a custom self-drive Adventure Race around Queenstown and Arrowtown, New Zealand, complete with twists, turns, and more than a few laughs. And yes, one of those twists literally sent teams off track.

The Race Begins

It all kicked off at their conference centre, where teams jumped into hire cars and launched straight into chaos. Their first mission? Track down a second hidden vehicle a few kilometres away before the race could even begin. The result? High energy, high stakes, and questionable GPS accuracy.

From there, teams navigated between scenic checkpoints across Queenstown and Arrowtown, tackling a series of quirky challenges, individual missions, and surprise roadblocks. Some chose teamwork; others went rogue, but everyone was determined to cross that finish line first.

The Dinner Challenge

As if racing through the mountains wasn’t enough, teams also faced a culinary curveball. Along the route, they collected ingredients and mystery items for a group dinner challenge. Let’s just say some dishes were five-star masterpieces, while others… well, might’ve sent a few participants straight to the nearest Maccas for “emergency carbs.”
