Teachers Who Build Together, Thrive Together

When you’ve got 150 teachers and administration staff, a student-free day, and thousands of LEGO® bricks, you know it’s going to be a fantastic day!

We recently headed to Trinity Catholic School for a huge Canberra Team Building event, transforming their school hall into a colourful construction zone for one of our favourite activities… Brick Masters.

Split into 29 teams, staff put their creativity, communication and problem-solving skills to the test in a series of fun, hands-on challenges. It was the perfect way to connect with colleagues outside the classroom while sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

From Tower Challenges to Creative Masterpieces

The day kicked off with some quick-fire building challenges to get everyone’s creative juices flowing.

Teams competed to construct the tallest towers, balancing speed with clever engineering. As always, some structures reached impressive heights… while others had a rather dramatic ending before the timer even stopped!

Next came the creative showcase, where teams designed incredible Brick Masters masterpieces. Every build had its own story, personality and plenty of laughs, proving that when people work together, imagination really does take over.

For schools and organisations looking for fun indoor team building ideas, these creative challenges are a fantastic way to encourage collaboration without anyone even realising they’re building important workplace skills.

The Bridge Challenge Never Disappoints

Of course, no Brick Masters event would be complete without our famous bridge-building finale.

Armed with only their bricks, teamwork and a little determination, each team had to design a bridge strong enough to survive our increasingly difficult strength tests.

Let’s just say… there were some spectacular failures!

While a handful of bridges held strong, most met a very entertaining end under the pressure. The room was filled with cheers, laughter and plenty of friendly banter as teams watched months of “engineering expertise” disappear in just a few seconds.

It never gets old, and it’s always one of the biggest highlights of the day.

A Perfect Student-Free Day Activity

Hosting the event in the school hall made it an ideal student-free day activity, giving teachers and administration staff the opportunity to relax, connect and work together in a completely different environment.

Rather than talking about teamwork, everyone got to experience it firsthand through creative challenges that required communication, planning and plenty of collaboration.

For schools, councils and businesses searching for team building for large teams, Brick Masters is an engaging activity that keeps everyone involved from beginning to end.

With 150 participants across 29 teams, the day flowed seamlessly and demonstrated just how effective indoor team bonding for large groups can be when every challenge encourages participation, creativity and plenty of laughs.
