There’s a new team building adventure hitting the streets of Australia, and this time, you get to choose your own path.
Meet our new Corporate Scavenger Hunt. It’s a fast-paced mix of clues, creative missions, local discoveries, photo challenges and friendly competition. Most importantly, no two teams will experience the hunt in quite the same way.
There’s no set route to follow. Instead, your team decides where to go, which challenges to tackle and how to build the biggest score before time runs out.
Sounds easy?
Wait until the leaderboard starts getting competitive.
So, What Actually Happens?
On the day, our purple-shirted pros will meet your group at your chosen start location. After a quick briefing, we’ll split everyone into teams and explain how the hunt works.
Then, it’s time to hit the streets.
Each team receives its first collection of scavenger hunt challenges. Every challenge carries a different points value, so you’ll need to decide what deserves your attention.
Some challenges test your observation skills. Others require creativity, problem-solving or a little local knowledge. You might need to find a hidden detail on a landmark, crack a code or answer a location-based question. Then, your next challenge could ask you to recreate a famous photo or film your best team performance.
Of course, there will also be a few challenges that are just plain ridiculous.
Because where’s the fun otherwise?
There’s No Set Route
This is where our Corporate Scavenger Hunt really starts to get interesting.
Unlike a traditional race, teams don’t simply follow each other from checkpoint to checkpoint. Instead, you choose your own adventure.
One team might head north in search of several high-point challenges. Another might stay close to the start and complete as many quick challenges as possible. Meanwhile, someone else will probably spend ten minutes filming a masterpiece they are convinced deserves bonus points.
Every decision matters.
Do you travel further for a 30-point challenge? Can you squeeze in three smaller challenges instead? Should you change direction when a new challenge appears?
Suddenly, a fun scavenger hunt becomes a game of strategy.
Keep Your Eyes Open
Our scavenger challenges make teams look at their surroundings differently.
You might walk past the same building every day without noticing what’s above the doorway. You may have crossed the same square hundreds of times without spotting a tiny detail hidden nearby.
Now, those details could be worth points.
We create location-based challenges around the area where your event takes place. Therefore, a Sydney scavenger hunt could include landmarks, sculptures, signs and hidden details around the CBD. In Melbourne, the city’s laneways and street art give us a completely different playground.
And that’s exactly how we like it.
Rather than running the same hunt everywhere, we use each location to inspire new challenges.
Expect Plenty of Photo & Video Challenges
Not every challenge involves finding something.
Sometimes, your team needs to do something.
You could find yourself recreating a movie scene, making a human sculpture or posing with a particular landmark. Perhaps you’ll need to film a dramatic slow-motion video or convince your entire team to perform a synchronised dance.
Then again, we might ask you to do something completely different.
These creative challenges bring plenty of laughs to the event. They also give teams another way to earn points without racing from one side of the city to the other.
Plus, they leave you with some very entertaining evidence of what your colleagues are willing to do when points are involved.
Watch Out for Surprise Challenges
Just when you think you’ve worked out the game, we can shake things up.
Our hosts can appear at surprise locations throughout the hunt. Find them and you might unlock a completely different challenge.
Maybe you’ll need to solve a hands-on puzzle. Perhaps you’ll face a quick-fire team task. Or maybe your host has a bonus clue that sends you somewhere unexpected.
We can also release additional challenges while the hunt is underway. As a result, teams need to keep checking what’s happening rather than simply making one plan at the beginning.
Your perfect strategy at 2:05pm might look very different by 2:45pm.
We Can Bring Your Company Into the Game
The city isn’t the only thing we can use for inspiration.
We can customise challenges around your company, conference or team too.
For example, you might need to answer company trivia or decipher a clue based on your industry. We could also add conference content, branded challenges or questions that only your team would understand.
Your workplace can even become part of the hunt.
Imagine walking up to your building concierge and giving them a secret codeword. Instead of looking confused, they hand you your next challenge.
Perhaps we’ve hidden a clue inside a locker. Maybe there’s a mystery object waiting at reception. Or your team might need to find a particular staff member to unlock bonus points.
These little surprises make the experience feel like your scavenger hunt, rather than something pulled straight from a standard event manual.
Your City Becomes the Game Board
One of our favourite parts of designing a Corporate Scavenger Hunt is turning familiar places into part of the competition.
For team building in Sydney, we can create hunts around areas such as Martin Place, The Rocks and Circular Quay. Hyde Park, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour also give us plenty of opportunities for creative challenges.
Meanwhile, team building in Melbourne opens up a completely different world of laneways, street art and hidden details. Brisbane offers riverside precincts, while Adelaide, Perth and Canberra each bring their own landmarks into the mix.
We can also create scavenger hunts on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, in Newcastle, Cairns, Hobart and regional locations across Australia.
Wherever you play, we’ll look for the little details that can become part of the hunt.
It’s All About the Points
While everyone starts out saying, “We’re just here to have fun,” something interesting tends to happen once points enter the equation.
Suddenly, five points matter….A lot.
Teams start checking their scores, changing their strategy and hunting for one last challenge before time runs out. Someone becomes extremely invested in whether a photo deserves the full points. Another teammate starts calculating exactly how many challenges you can complete in the final 12 minutes.
That’s when the competitive side really kicks in.
Meanwhile, Race HQ keeps track of submissions and scores throughout the event. Once time runs out, teams make their way to the finish location for the final results.
Then comes the moment everyone has been waiting for.
Who actually won?
And, perhaps more importantly, who came last?
Scavenger Hunt or Corporate Amazing Race?
If you’ve joined one of our Corporate Amazing Races, you’ll notice some big differences.
During an Amazing Race, teams follow a more structured route. You’ll move between checkpoints and complete Roadblocks, Detours, Fast Forwards and hosted challenges along the way.
Our Corporate Scavenger Hunt is much more free-flowing.
You decide where to go. You decide what to attempt. You decide whether travelling six blocks for a high-point challenge is an inspired strategic move or a terrible mistake.
That freedom means teams can have completely different experiences during the same event.
Of course, both involve competition, teamwork and questionable navigation.
Some things are simply part of the Tailored Team Building experience.
Ready to Hit the Streets?
Our new Corporate Scavenger Hunt Australia is all about exploring, solving, creating and competing.
You could be cracking a clue one minute and filming a ridiculous team video the next. Then, just when you’ve finally worked out your strategy, a new challenge might appear and change everything.
Choose your start location. Choose your finish location. Then we’ll create the adventure in between.
Explore our Corporate Scavenger Hunt Australia and get ready to hunt your way to the top of the leaderboard.
Just remember one thing. Every point counts!
